Rebecca Peña
Rebecca Peña is an accomplished music educator, choir director, and theater director with 25 years of experience inspiring students through music and the performing arts. She currently serves as the Vocal Music Teacher and Drama Director at the STEAM High School in the Syracuse City School District, where she conducts choral ensembles, teaches voice and piano classes, directs theatrical productions, and mentors future educators.
Throughout her career, Becca has been dedicated to creating engaging, student-centered learning environments that encourage creativity, confidence, and personal growth. She has successfully directed numerous plays and musicals, prepared students for NYSSMA and All-County performances, and expanded opportunities for student participation in music programs across multiple schools.
A graduate of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Becca also earned her Master’s degree in Music Education from Syracuse University. She has served on district curriculum development teams, presented at professional conferences, and participated in leadership initiatives including SyraFuse and SyraFusion.
Known for her collaborative leadership, innovative teaching, and commitment to excellence, Becca is passionate about helping students discover their voices, develop their talents, and build confidence that extends far beyond the stage.
