Our Team
Dr. Wendy K. Moy is a conductor, soprano, educator, and nonprofit founder. She is an Associate Professor and Chair of Music Education at Syracuse University, where she teaches conducting and choral literature and directs the Oratorio Society. She is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Ensemble Sonora, a semiprofessional treble choir, and Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Chorosynthesis Singers, winner of the 2024 American Prize in Choral Performance with a special citation for Extraordinary Commitment to New Music. Chorosynthesis released Empowering Silenced Voices on Centaur Records, a two-CD collection of new music exploring themes of social consciousness, and Dr. Moy is herself a third-place winner of The American Prize in Choral Conducting.
Artistic Director
Dr. Moy has conducted All-State and honor choirs across the Northeast, including in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, and Connecticut. Selected as an ACDA International Conducting Fellow, she made her international conducting debut in João Pessoa, Brazil, returning in 2024 as the festival's headliner, and has also conducted in Shenzhen, China. She began her own musical journey on the violin at age four and studied orchestral conducting before turning her focus to the choral world — and she still sings soprano herself with the vocal ensemble 21V.
Dr. Moy's research focuses on the culture of singing communities and fostering belonging in the choral ensemble. She is the author of Resurrecting Song: A Pathway for the Choral Art in the Time of Pandemics (Routledge) and has presented her work at conferences around the world. Her honors include the Paul and Veronica Abel Award for Choral Performance and the YWCA Champion of Diversity Award.
L Gener
L Gener is a junior studying music education at Syracuse University. They are involved in choral ensembles such as the Syracuse University Singers, Vox Salina, and Hendricks Chapel Choir as well as the Syracuse University Marching Band. L also currently serves as president for the university's chapter of NAfME. They hope to pursue a degree in choral conducting post undergrad.

My name is Cheyenna Gordon, and I am studying Music Education at Syracuse University. My primary instrument is my voice, but I also play many wind instruments such as flute in the Syracuse University Marching Band. After undergrad, I hope to get a Masters in Choral Conducting and eventually become a high school choral director as well as guest conduct at events.
